Tata Nexon EV with Level 2 ADAS – Launch Soon: Tata Motors is once again raising the benchmark in India’s compact-SUV EV segment. The much-loved Nexon EV is set to receive a significant technology enhancement with the introduction of Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) in its top-end variants. This update will make the Nexon EV one of the most feature-packed and advanced electric SUVs in its category.

Empowered+ A 45: The Flagship Nexon EV

The highlight of this upgrade is the new Empowered+ A 45 variant, which will now sit at the very top of the Nexon EV lineup. It builds upon the existing Empowered 45 and Empowered Plus 45 trims, which currently retail between ₹15.99 lakh and ₹17.19 lakh (ex-showroom). While the addition of Level 2 ADAS will likely bring a modest price increase, Tata Motors aims to keep the pricing competitive in the under-₹20 lakh EV SUV segment.

Premium Features Already on Offer

Even before the ADAS upgrade, the Empowered trims were loaded with premium equipment such as:

  • JBL sound system with subwoofer
  • 360° surround-view camera with blind-spot monitoring
  • Voice-assisted panoramic sunroof
  • Ventilated leatherette seats
  • V2V (Vehicle-to-Vehicle) and V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) charging
  • Arcade. EV app suite
  • 31.24 cm (12.3″) cinematic touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay

Level 2 ADAS Capabilities

The Nexon EV will soon offer semi-autonomous driving functions designed to improve safety and reduce driver fatigue. Key ADAS features include:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
  • Lane Keep Assist (LKA) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
  • Forward Collision Warning (FCW) with Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB)
  • Traffic Sign Recognition
  • High Beam Assist

These features promise greater convenience and safety on highways, while bringing the Nexon EV closer to premium SUVs in terms of technology.

Battery and Performance

The Empowered+ A 45 will continue to use the robust 45 kWh battery pack, delivering a real-world driving range of 350–375 km. Fast charging will allow the battery to charge from 20% to 80% in around 20 minutes.

Performance figures remain unchanged:

  • Power: 106 kW (143 PS)
  • Torque: 215 Nm
  • Acceleration (0–100 km/h): 8.9 seconds

Additionally, Tata Motors continues to offer a lifetime warranty on the high-voltage battery, giving it a strong edge in customer confidence.

Special Editions for Added Appeal

The Dark Edition and Red Dark Edition will also continue alongside the new update. With their stylish blacked-out design, red accents, and premium finishes, these variants will now combine visual distinction with the enhanced safety of ADAS.

What does this mean for Buyers?

The launch of Level 2 ADAS in the Nexon EV reflects Tata Motors’ commitment to customer safety and advanced technology. By offering premium features, a strong performance package, and advanced driver assistance at an accessible price, the Nexon EV Empowered+ variants are set to become the benchmark in the under-₹20 lakh electric SUV category. While a completely new-generation Nexon EV built on a fresh platform is expected in the coming years, this upgrade ensures the current model remains modern, competitive, and future-ready.
