Lucknow has added a fresh and exciting way for tourists to explore its rich heritage. In January 2026, Lucknow Launches Double-Decker EV Bus, offering visitors a unique guided city tour on an eco-friendly, electric vehicle. This bright orange bus is part of the “Lucknow Darshan” initiative, designed to promote sustainable tourism while providing panoramic views of the city from its upper deck.

What does the Lucknow Darshan Bus Offers?

The new electric double-decker bus can accommodate up to 66 passengers and is equipped with modern amenities such as Wi-Fi, CCTV cameras, and air-conditioning. The tour includes guided commentary in both Hindi and English, giving tourists insights into the history and culture of Lucknow. Notably, the bus provides special access inside the Vidhan Sabha hall, making it a unique heritage experience.

The service runs daily, even if there is only one booking, ensuring convenience for every visitor. The bus speed is capped at 50 kmph for safety, and tickets are printed on eco-friendly tulsi seed paper, which can be planted after the journey, adding a sustainable touch to the tour.

Routes and Timings

The tour operates in two slots:

Morning Tour (8:30 AM – 11:30 AM): The route starts at 1090 Chauraha and covers Raj Bhavan, Hazratganj, The Residency (with a 40-minute stop), Vidhan Sabha (30-minute stop), Gomti Riverfront, and UP Darshan Park, before returning to the starting point.

Evening Tour (4:00 PM – 7:00 PM): This tour follows a similar route but includes a Light and Sound Show at The Residency and concludes at Food Valley in Gomti Nagar. Due to the bus’s 16-foot height, Old Lucknow areas like Bada Imambara are excluded.

Ticket Price and Booking

Tickets are priced at ₹500 for adults and ₹400 for children aged 5–12. A 10% introductory discount is available until January 31, and group discounts include 25% off for school groups and 20% off for other groups with a minimum of 32 passengers.

Tickets can be booked online or purchased directly on the bus by scanning a QR code, making it simple and accessible for all tourists. The ticket price includes entry fees to all listed monuments and light refreshments.

Why You Should Experience It?

The new service ensures a relaxed, organized, and eco-conscious sightseeing experience. With its guided commentary, comfortable seating, and open upper deck, visitors can enjoy the city’s landmarks like never before. Truly, Lucknow Launches Double-Decker EV Bus is a must-try for both locals and travelers wanting a sustainable and memorable way to explore the city.
