Dreame unveils ‘Star Motor’ as its official entry into the global electric vehicle market, marking a major leap beyond its roots as a premium vacuum and smart appliance manufacturer. The announcement was made during the high-profile “Dream Night” event held on February 4, where the brand introduced three SUV models and outlined its ambitious automotive roadmap.

This strategic move follows Dreame’s earlier automotive debut at CES 2026, where it showcased the high-performance Kosmera Nebula 1, signaling serious intent to compete in the EV space.

Three SUVs, Three Distinct Personalities

As Dreame unveils ‘Star Motor’, the brand rolls out a trio of SUVs designed to cover hardcore off-road performance and ultra-luxury comfort.

  • Star T08 is positioned as an “all-domain hardcore SUV,” built for versatility across urban, highway, and rugged terrains.
  • Star T08L elevates this concept further as an “all-terrain hardcore SUV,” emphasizing enhanced off-road capability.
  • Star D09, the flagship model, features a luxurious six-seater layout and targets the ultra-luxury segment. Visually and conceptually, it echoes an SUV teased by Dreame last year and is positioned as a potential rival to the Rolls-Royce Cullinan.

Advanced Chassis and Power Innovations

One of the standout highlights as Dreame unveils ‘Star Motor’ is its focus on advanced vehicle dynamics. The brand introduces Super Chassis Technology, which includes a bi-directional 24-degree rear-wheel steering system. This setup enables an exceptionally tight turning radius of under 0.005 km, supported by an intelligent four-motor independent drive system and active suspension for superior handling on and off the road.

Dreame also plans to leverage its expertise in high-speed motor technology—adapted from its vacuum systems that can reach up to 200,000 RPM—to deliver powerful and efficient electric drivetrains.

Self-Evolving Energy and Range Strategy

Another key innovation is the world’s first self-evolving energy recovery system, designed to learn individual driving behavior. According to Dreame, this system can improve energy recovery efficiency by 18%, optimize energy consumption by 30%, and extend high-speed driving range by 12%. Some models may also offer an optional gasoline range extender.

Bold Leadership and Global Strategy

As Dreame unveils ‘Star Motor’, founder and CEO Yu Hao made headlines by predicting that Tesla could exit the EV market within 20 years, likening its future to iRobot’s niche position. Dreame plans a global strategy centered on “China R&D, Germany manufacturing,” with factory scouting reportedly underway near Tesla’s Giga Berlin—underscoring its long-term ambition to become a serious global EV contender.
