Karnataka has taken a significant step toward accelerating electric mobility with a landmark digital initiative. BESCOM launches the Land Aggregator Portal to simplify and speed up the development of EV charging and battery swapping stations across the state. The move is expected to benefit EV users, investors, landowners, and charge point operators alike while strengthening the state’s green mobility ecosystem.
A Single-Window Push for Green Mobility
Introduced on January 13, 2026, the Land Aggregator Portal is a first-of-its-kind, single-window digital platform in India. It brings together land access, regulatory approvals, and power connections under one unified system. By reducing procedural delays, the initiative aims to make EV infrastructure deployment faster, more transparent, and more investor-friendly.

Through this platform, BESCOM launches the Land Aggregator Portal as a common interface connecting private landowners, government departments, vendors, and charge point operators (CPOs), enabling seamless coordination from planning to execution.
How does the Portal work?
The portal allows landowners—both individuals and institutions—to register and offer land for EV charging or battery swapping centres. Land can be leased, rented, or shared on a revenue-sharing model. Vendors and CPOs can then identify suitable locations, conduct feasibility checks, and set up infrastructure while managing operations efficiently.
A key advantage is faster electricity connectivity. BESCOM provides an integrated digital dashboard through which operators can directly apply for power supply, track approvals, and monitor progress. This streamlined approach significantly cuts down approval timelines.
Key Features and Benefits
- Single-Window System: Unified access for land, approvals, and power connections
- Revenue Opportunities: Landowners earn income by leasing unused space
- Faster Power Connections: Reduced delays through online coordination
- Statewide Coverage: Focus on cities as well as major highway corridors
By ensuring easier access to land and electricity, BESCOM launches the Land Aggregator Portal to encourage widespread deployment of charging stations and battery swapping hubs.
Strategic Impact on Karnataka’s EV Ecosystem
Karnataka already hosts over 5,960 public EV charging stations. This initiative aims to rapidly increase that number, improve charging density, and enable smooth inter-city EV travel. Special emphasis will be placed on urban areas, highways, and the creation of EV hubs through public–private partnerships.
Aligned with national electric mobility goals and schemes like PM E-Drive, the platform also supports sustainable integration, including renewable energy-based charging solutions.
Driving the Future of Clean Transport
With reduced red tape, better coordination, and clear economic incentives, BESCOM launches the Land Aggregator Portal as a transformative step toward building a robust, future-ready EV charging network. The initiative positions Karnataka as a leader in clean transport infrastructure while supporting long-term environmental and economic goals.
