Autonomous 3-wheeler ‘Swayamgati’ EV: Omega Seiki Mobility (OSM) has taken a giant leap in India’s electric mobility sector by launching Swayamgati, the country’s first production-ready autonomous electric three-wheeler. Touted as the world’s first AI-driven autonomous 3-wheeler, the vehicle aims to redefine urban transportation and last-mile mobility in controlled environments such as airports, campuses, industrial parks, smart cities, and gated communities.

Priced at ₹4 lakh (ex-showroom) for the passenger variant and ₹4.15 lakh for the cargo variant, Swayamgati brings advanced autonomous technology to an affordable range, making it a practical solution for businesses and institutions looking to reduce operational costs. According to OSM, the additional investment compared to traditional three-wheelers can be recovered in just 3–5 months by eliminating driver salaries.

Cutting-Edge Autonomous Technology

Swayamgati is powered by an AI-driven autonomy system that integrates Lidar, GPS, cameras, multi-sensor navigation, and remote safety controls. The system allows the vehicle to detect obstacles up to six meters ahead, ensuring safe and efficient navigation without human intervention. The routes are pre-mapped and customizable according to client requirements, providing flexibility for both passenger and cargo transport.

The vehicle is equipped with a 10.3 kWh battery, offering a range of up to 120 km on a single charge and a top speed of 12 kmph, making it ideal for low-speed, high-density routes typical in Indian cities and towns. Its compact design and intelligent navigation make it suitable for metro areas as well as Tier 2 and Tier 3 towns. Being a 100% electric vehicle, Swayamgati contributes to zero tailpipe emissions, supporting India’s sustainability goals.

Testing and Commercial Rollout

Swayamgati has completed Phase 1 pilot testing on a 3-kilometer route with seven stops, demonstrating autonomous navigation, obstacle detection, and safe passenger transport. Following the successful pilot, OSM has started Phase 2 rollout in structured and semi-controlled environments, with plans to deploy 1,500 units commercially over the next two years.

Designed for Indian Roads

Unlike autonomous vehicles developed for high-income global markets, Swayamgati is engineered for Indian traffic conditions, including low-speed congested routes and varied terrains. This localization ensures reliability and practicality for everyday mobility in Indian urban and semi-urban settings.

Manufacturing and Support Ecosystem

OSM manufactures Swayamgati in its three Indian plants—two in Faridabad and one in Chakan (Pune)—alongside an international assembly facility in Dubai’s Jafza free zone. The company also operates a network of over 200 dealerships and service centers across India, ensuring robust after-sales support for both passenger and cargo applications.

Leadership Vision

Uday Narang, Founder and Chairman of OSM, described the launch as “a bold step into the future of Indian transportation,” highlighting India’s capability to lead in autonomous mobility. Chief Strategy Officer Vivek Dhawan added that Swayamgati “democratizes autonomy”, making advanced technology accessible and practical for everyday use.

With the launch of Swayamgati, Omega Seiki Mobility has positioned India as a key player in the global autonomous mobility market, which is projected to reach USD 620 billion by 2030. This milestone marks a significant stride towards intelligent, sustainable, and efficient urban transport solutions.
