Robust Domestic Growth Drives Performance
The company’s domestic passenger vehicle (PV) segment remained the backbone of its growth. Sales surged to 59,000 units, up from 45,199 units last year, reflecting a 30.5% increase. Strong demand for Tata’s popular models and SUVs continues to fuel this growth, further strengthening its position in the Indian automobile market.
International Business Sees Sharp Rise
Tata Motors’ international business (IB), though smaller in scale, recorded exceptional growth. Sales rose to 701 units from 333 units, registering a remarkable 110.5% increase. This surge highlights improving traction in global markets and supports the claim that Tata Motors wins the EV Race not just domestically but globally as well.
EV Segment Powers Ahead
A major highlight of April 2026 was Tata Motors’ electric vehicle performance. Combined EV sales (domestic + international) reached 9,150 units, compared to 5,318 units last year, marking a 72.1% growth. With a strong portfolio including Harrier EV, Curvv EV, Punch EV, Nexon EV, Tiago EV, and Tigor EV, the company continues to dominate the EV space. Clearly, Tata Motors wins the EV Race with its aggressive electrification strategy.
