In a major push toward sustainable mobility, VinFast extends its free EV Charging Program for customers in India, Indonesia, and the Philippines until March 31, 2029. This strategic move builds on the success of its earlier initiative and aims to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) across emerging Asian markets.
Zero Charging Costs to Boost EV Adoption
With this extension, VinFast is offering a significant benefit—zero charging costs for up to three years. The VinFast Extends Free EV Charging Program allows all EV owners to access free charging through the V-Green network, which is developed and operated by Vingroup. This initiative is expected to reduce the overall cost of ownership, making EVs more appealing compared to traditional gasoline vehicles.
Importantly, the program is inclusive. It applies not only to new buyers but also to existing VinFast customers. Additionally, it covers both private users and commercial operators, including drivers using the Green SM ride-hailing service.

“Trade Gas for Electric” Initiative
To further encourage the transition, Vingroup has introduced the “Trade Gas for Electric” campaign. Running from March 11 to March 31, 2026, this limited-time offer provides a 3% discount on VinFast electric cars and a 5% discount on electric scooters for customers switching from gasoline vehicles.
This initiative complements the VinFast Extends Free EV Charging Program, creating a powerful combination of incentives. By lowering both upfront and running costs, VinFast is making it easier for consumers to adopt clean transportation.
Additional Benefits for EV Users
Beyond private customers, VinFast is also extending benefits to users of its electric taxi services. Through the “GreenForAll” program, customers using Green SM taxis in Indonesia, Laos, and Vietnam can enjoy a 10% discount during the same promotional period in March 2026.
These layered incentives highlight how the VinFast Extends Free EV Charging Program is part of a broader ecosystem designed to promote green mobility across multiple segments.
Expanding Charging Infrastructure
A key factor behind this initiative is the rapid expansion of the V-Green charging network. By continuously increasing charging accessibility, VinFast is addressing one of the biggest concerns for EV adoption—range anxiety. This infrastructure growth ensures that customers can confidently switch to electric vehicles without worrying about charging availability.
Strong Ecosystem and Future Vision
VinFast is not just focusing on charging incentives. The company also offers a battery subscription program, resale value guarantees, flexible payment options, and industry-leading warranties. These policies collectively reduce financial barriers and enhance customer confidence.
As a subsidiary of Vingroup, VinFast is rapidly expanding globally, including its manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu, India, which is expected to produce 150,000 vehicles annually and generate around 3,500 jobs.
With a comprehensive EV ecosystem and forward-thinking initiatives, VinFast’s Extends Free EV Charging Program stands as a significant step toward making electric mobility mainstream and building a cleaner, greener future worldwide.
