Hyundai Delivers 2.3 Million EV Charging Units in India: Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), one of India’s leading smart mobility solutions providers, is accelerating the nation’s journey toward sustainable mobility through its rapidly expanding EV charging infrastructure. As of August 2025, Hyundai has successfully installed 119 public EV fast-charging stations across India, with plans to scale up to 600 stations in the coming years. This strategic expansion is aimed at electrifying key highways, major cities, and HMIL dealerships, ensuring that EV adoption is both convenient and reliable.

A Major Step Towards Carbon Neutrality

So far, Hyundai’s network has dispensed more than 2.3 million units of clean energy through 1,80,000+ charging sessions, serving both B2C and B2B customers. This effort has prevented the emission of 1.6 million kilograms of CO₂, contributing significantly to India’s goal of achieving carbon neutrality. By offering accessible and reliable charging solutions, Hyundai is not just supporting its own EV lineup but also extending services to all four-wheeled EVs in the market.

Expanding the EV Ecosystem

Hyundai’s approach goes beyond charging infrastructure. Through the myHyundai app, users can seamlessly access 20,000+ EV charging points, including both Hyundai-owned and partner Charge Point Operator (CPO) networks. The app enables customers to locate stations, book slots, and make secure digital payments with ease, ensuring a stress-free charging experience.

In addition, Hyundai has introduced Hyundai Pay, India’s first in-car payment platform that allows drivers to pay for EV charging directly via the infotainment system. Already integrated with more than 1,200 charging points, this feature makes Hyundai vehicles smarter, safer, and more convenient for EV owners.

Reliable and Customer-Friendly Infrastructure

Hyundai’s EV charging stations boast 97% uptime and are strategically located across key highways and urban centers, including Delhi-Chandigarh, Delhi-Jaipur, Mumbai-Pune, Bengaluru-Pune, Hyderabad-Vijayawada, and major cities such as Gurugram, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Chennai. To further enhance the customer experience, many charging sites are equipped with amenities such as coffee shops, restaurants, and retail outlets, while on-ground marshals and 24×7 CCTV surveillance ensure safety and convenience during peak hours.

Advanced Charging Technology

Hyundai’s fast-charging network offers multiple configurations—ranging from DC 150 kW + DC 60 kW + DC 30 kW to DC 60 kW—to cater to different vehicle types and customer needs. Optional home charging solutions are also available, with 7.4 kW or 11 kW connected home chargers offered with every Hyundai EV purchase, giving customers a complete suite of charging options.

Focus on Tamil Nadu and Nationwide Expansion

As part of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Tamil Nadu, Hyundai has committed to installing 100 fast-charging stations across the state by 2027. Already, 16 stations are operational, with the number expected to reach 30 by the end of 2025.

Driving the EV Future Forward

Commenting on this initiative, Mr. Jae Wan Ryu, Function Head – Corporate Planning, HMIL, emphasized Hyundai’s strong position in leading India’s EV adoption. He highlighted the company’s global expertise, its flagship EVs such as the Hyundai IONIQ 5 and CRETA Electric, and the expansion of 542 EV retail outlets across 238 cities as of August 2025.

By investing in advanced charging technologies, building strong partnerships, and providing customer-centric solutions, Hyundai Motor India is playing a pivotal role in shaping a cleaner, greener, and more connected EV ecosystem for the country.
