BYD’s premium brand Denza is preparing to enter the ultra-luxury electric SUV space with the N8, a powerful new model designed to challenge the Range Rover and other high-end SUVs. BYD Denza N8 Luxury EV launch plans are currently linked to China, while Australia and the UK are emerging as important markets for Denza’s global expansion.
The upcoming electric SUV has appeared in regulatory filings shared by CNC, revealing its large dimensions, high-capacity batteries, and multiple high-performance powertrains. Measuring 5,150mm long and 1,820mm tall, the N8 has a road presence comparable to the Range Rover SV, which measures just over 5,050mm.

Three Powertrains and Up to 890 kW
The BYD Denza N8 Luxury EV launch lineup is expected to offer three powertrain configurations. The entry-level version produces 320kW, while a more powerful rear-wheel-drive variant develops 370kW.
At the top of the range is a tri-motor setup with two rear motors and one front motor. Combined output reaches an impressive 890kW, positioning the N8 among the most powerful electric SUVs in its class.
Up to 1,003km Range
Power comes from BYD’s new 100 kWh-plus LFP Blade Battery technology. A 105.8kWh battery is claimed to deliver up to 840km of CLTC range, potentially translating to around 600km under WLTP testing.
A larger 130.2kWh battery increases the claimed CLTC range to 1,003km, which could exceed 700km on the WLTP cycle.
The BYD Denza N8 Luxury EV Launch package is also expected to feature BYD’s 1,500 kW Flash Charging technology. The system could charge the battery from 10 to 70 percent in five minutes, or 10 to 97 percent in around nine minutes.
Luxury Performance at Half the Price?
Pricing remains unconfirmed, but the N8 could reportedly cost around AUD $150,000 (approximately ₹83 lakh). That would make it dramatically cheaper than the Range Rover Sport SV, which starts at around AUD $320,000 before options.
Global Expansion and India Plans
The BYD Denza N8 Luxury EV to Launch strategy forms part of BYD’s wider push into premium global markets. Denza is already expanding in Europe, while Australia is evaluating the brand locally. The Denza D9 MPV has reportedly been spotted undergoing testing in Melbourne.
India is also expected to become an important market. BYD is preparing to introduce Denza with the D9 electric MPV, potentially around Diwali 2026 or the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in February 2027, with an expected price near ₹90 lakh.
Denza is also developing the N9 “Black Warrior” plug-in hybrid, featuring a 925 hp tri-motor system, a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine, a 1,302km combined range, and 0-100 km/h acceleration in 3.9 seconds.
With massive power, long-range batteries, and ultra-fast charging, the BYD Denza N8 Luxury EV Launch could become one of BYD’s strongest challenges to established luxury SUV brands.
