Octillion India has achieved a major manufacturing breakthrough with the rollout of its 100,000th electric vehicle (EV) battery system, marking a significant step in its journey as one of the country’s most influential EV battery suppliers. This achievement highlights the company’s expanding role in supporting India’s transition toward clean and sustainable transportation.
A Major Production Milestone
The landmark 100,000th unit was completed on March 20, 2025, at Octillion’s second Pune facility, known as “Pune Two.” This high-performance battery pack has been supplied for a newly launched electric passenger SUV from a leading domestic automaker. With production spread across facilities in Pune and Gujarat, Octillion India has strengthened its capability to deliver EV battery systems at scale while meeting strict quality and safety benchmarks.

Strong Manufacturing Footprint and Rapid Expansion
Since entering India in 2017, the company has evolved from a single-site manufacturing electric bus batteries to a multi-facility network serving various vehicle categories. Today, Octillion India operates over 300,000 square feet of manufacturing and R&D space. Its battery system’s power:
- Passenger cars and SUVs
- Electric buses and trucks
- Two-wheelers and three-wheelers
- Last-mile delivery vehicles
The company’s partnerships include major players such as Tata Motors—which recently honored Octillion with a Supplier Excellence Award—and Volvo-Eicher for electric commercial vehicles.
Looking ahead, Octillion India is preparing to expand further with a new large-scale manufacturing facility in Halol, Gujarat, expected to significantly boost production capability. By 2026, the company projects an annual energy output capacity of 8 GWh, positioning it as a leading battery supplier in India’s fast-growing EV ecosystem.
Commitment to Sustainability and Localization
A key pillar of Octillion’s growth strategy in India is localized manufacturing. By investing in domestic supplier networks, the company is reducing dependency on imports while improving agility and cost efficiency. Its Pune site has already transitioned to 100% solar power, with a long-term goal of making all facilities carbon-neutral by 2027.
Driving the Next Phase of India’s EV Revolution
Reaching the 100,000-unit milestone reflects more than just production scale—it represents the trust of automotive partners and the rising demand for clean mobility solutions. With its continued expansion, growing collaborations, and commitment to sustainable manufacturing, Octillion India is set to play a pivotal role in powering the next wave of India’s electric mobility transformation.
