Maruti Suzuki is set to make a historic entry into India’s electric vehicle market with the launch of the all-new Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara today, December 2, 2025, in Gurugram, Haryana. The price announcement is scheduled for around 6 PM, marking the beginning of a new EV era for the country’s largest car manufacturer.

A Major Milestone for Maruti Suzuki

The e-Vitara has already been launched internationally, and production for the Indian market is underway at Maruti’s Gujarat manufacturing plant. The company has also begun exporting the model to regions like Europe and the UK. In India, the e-Vitara will be sold exclusively through NEXA dealerships, strengthening Maruti’s premium EV strategy.

Battery, Range & Charging

The Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara will be offered with two battery pack options – 49 kWh and 61 kWh, both based on robust lithium-ion (LFP) cell technology. The battery pack consists of 120 high-durability lithium-ion cells, tested for extreme conditions ranging from –30°C to 60°C.

Depending on the variant, the e-Vitara is expected to offer:

  • Up to 344 km range with the 49 kWh pack
  • Up to 426 km range with the 61 kWh pack
  • Some reports suggest up to 500 km range for the top variant in Indian conditions

Both battery packs support DC fast charging, capable of charging from 0–80% in about 45–50 minutes, based on international specifications.
