Mahindra XEV 9S Launched — and the EV market is buzzing like never before. Priced aggressively at ₹19.95 lakh, Mahindra has just dropped a game-changing electric SUV that could redefine family mobility in India. Revealed at the grand ‘Scream Electric’ event in Bengaluru on 27 November 2025, this flagship model isn’t just another EV—it’s the country’s first mass-market 7-seater electric SUV built for space, technology, and everyday practicality. From long-range battery packs to premium tech features, the XEV 9S promises far more than what its price tag suggests, leaving one question lingering—is this the future of Indian electric travel?

Despite sharing the INGLO platform with the XEV 9e, the 9S comes at a surprisingly aggressive introductory pricing — ₹1.95 lakh cheaper than the 9e. Test drives begin on 5 December 2025, bookings open on 14 January 2026, and deliveries start on 23 January 2026.

Design & Road Presence

The Mahindra XEV 9S draws inspiration from the XEV 9e and earlier XUV.e8 design concepts, displaying a bold, futuristic EV identity. The front features a closed-off grille, continuous LED DRLs and sharp triangular LED headlamps. A long bonnet with muscular fenders enhances its SUV stance, while smoked LED tail-lamps and a clean, upright rear complete the design.

A 2,762 mm wheelbase, 205 mm ground clearance (222 mm at battery), and efficient space management make it a practical family mover. Storage is class-leading with a 150-litre frunk and 527 litres of boot space with the 3rd row folded.

Cabin & Technology — Triple Screen Dashboard

Step inside and the XEV 9S feels like a tech-first lounge. The dashboard houses a massive coast-to-coast triple screen layout — driver display, central infotainment, and dedicated co-driver entertainment screen. Rear passengers also get two additional screens with BYOD mounts.

Even base variants are well-equipped with:

✔ Panoramic sunroof
✔ Sliding & reclining 2nd row
✔ Wireless charger
✔ Multiple cabin modes — Keep Mode, Camp Mode & PawPal

Higher variants elevate the experience with:

  • 16-speaker Harman Kardon + Dolby Atmos
  • AR-based VisionX Head-Up Display
  • Ventilated 1st & 2nd row seats
  • Multi-colour ambient lighting
  • Lounge Desk & Boss Mode seating

Performance, Battery Packs & Charging Capabilities

The 9S offers three battery options — 59 kWh, 70 kWh and 79 kWh, producing up to 210 kW / 380 Nm. The 79 kWh versions claim 0-100 km/h in 7 seconds, top speed capped at 202 km/h, and real-world range up to 500+ km.

Rapid charging is a strong highlight:

🔋 20–80% DC Fast Charge in ~20 min
    🔋 175 kW fast-charging support
    🔋 One-pedal driving + 4 drive modes (Default / Range / Race / Everyday)

    Optional chargers:
    • 7.2 kW – ₹50,000
    • 11.2 kW – ₹75,000

Safety & ADAS — Up to Level 2+

Safety is another major strength. The XEV 9S offers:

    🛡 Up to 7 airbags + high-strength architecture
🛡 Drowsiness detection, E-Brake, TPMS, Secure360 security suite
    🛡 Pack Two — Level 2 ADAS
🛡 Pack Three — Level 2+ ADAS with enhanced lane centring & cross-traffic alerts
