The wait is finally over for EV enthusiasts across India as the e-Vitara launches in India on this date, December 2, 2025. Maruti Suzuki, a name synonymous with trust and innovation, is stepping into the electric era with its very first homegrown electric SUV. Originally revealed as the futuristic eVX concept at Auto Expo 2023 and later showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, the e-Vitara promises more than just a ride—it offers a glimpse into the future of Indian mobility. Packed with advanced tech, premium features, and a dedicated EV platform, it’s set to turn heads and spark curiosity nationwide.
Battery, Range, and Performance
Maruti Suzuki will offer the e-Vitara with two battery options: a 49 kWh pack and a 61 kWh pack. The larger 61 kWh battery is expected to deliver an impressive ARAI-certified range of over 500 km, making it suitable for long-distance drives. Both battery variants are paired with a single front-mounted electric motor (FWD). For fast charging, the e-Vitara supports DC fast charging, allowing the battery to reach 0-80% in just 50 minutes.

Design and Features
The e-Vitara blends style with functionality. Its cabin features a dual-screen cockpit, ventilated front seats, an electric sunroof, and a 10-way electrically adjustable driver seat. Safety and assistance are prioritized with Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), a 360-degree camera, seven airbags, TPMS, and LED projector headlamps. Additionally, it offers multiple drive modes and Suzuki Connect for enhanced connectivity.
Variants, Colors, and Production
The SUV will be available in three variants and ten vibrant color options, catering to diverse customer preferences. Production is underway at Maruti Suzuki’s Hansalpur plant in Gujarat, which also handles exports to global markets, including Europe, Japan, and the UK.
After several delays, Maruti Suzuki has finally confirmed the official launch date and pricing reveal on December 2, 2025, marking a significant milestone in India’s EV journey.
