BYD’s premium electric vehicle brand, Denza, has taken a glamorous leap into the global spotlight by partnering with none other than Daniel Craig, the iconic face of James Bond. In a strategic move aimed at redefining its luxury identity, the company confirmed that Daniel Craig approves the brand’s upcoming product lineup and will serve as its global ambassador throughout 2026.

A Star-Studded Partnership for a High-End Vision

Denza officially revealed its collaboration with Craig as it released the first teaser images of its upcoming high-performance sports car. According to BYD, the actor will feature prominently in marketing campaigns, TV commercials, and launch events worldwide.

Stella Li, Executive Vice President of BYD, explained that Craig embodies “strength, sophistication, and authenticity,” values that align perfectly with Denza’s premium positioning. With Daniel Craig’s approval of its direction, Denza aims to establish itself as a strong rival to Europe’s luxury car giants.

The Denza Z: A New Flagship Designed to Shock the Industry

The brand’s next major release—likely named the Denza Z—is positioned as a direct competitor to the Porsche 911. First seen as the Z concept at the 2025 Shanghai Motor Show, this sports car is expected to become Denza’s flagship, sitting above the Z9 GT shooting brake, the B5 SUV, and the D9 MPV.

Though full specifications remain under wraps, early insights point to cutting-edge features such as the following:

  • Tri-motor electric powertrain with over 952 hp
  • 0–100 km/h acceleration in under 3 seconds
  • Steer-by-wire and magnetorheological suspension
  • “Crab walk” and “tank turn” capabilities
  • A tech-loaded, futuristic cockpit
  • BYD’s famous Blade Battery for faster charging and extended range

With such performance, design, and innovation, it’s no surprise that Daniel Craig approves of the brand’s ambition.

Global Expansion and a New Luxury Identity

The Denza partnership with Craig coincides with the European debut of the Z9 GT on April 8th in Paris. BYD has confirmed major expansion plans across Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa, marking a new phase in Denza’s evolution.

Originally a joint venture between BYD and Mercedes-Benz, Denza became fully owned by BYD in 2024. This shift enabled the brand to use BYD’s advanced Blade Battery and e-platform technologies to compete in the premium EV market.

With powerful new models on the horizon and the endorsement that Daniel Craig approves of their global strategy, Denza is set to challenge the world’s top luxury automakers—and redefine what a premium Chinese EV can be.
