The rollout of Project E-DHARA begins in 2025 with the commissioning of its first dedicated renewable charging hub in Dahej, Gujarat. This facility serves as a blueprint for future hubs and demonstrates how renewable power can drive large-scale EV infrastructure.
Key Features of the Dahej Hub
- 1 MW Solar Plant: Generates clean, on-site electricity to power the entire charging station.
- 5 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS): Stores surplus solar energy and ensures uninterrupted charging, even during nighttime or cloudy weather.
- Off-Grid Operations: Designed to function primarily off-grid, connecting to the main power network only as a backup, boosting both sustainability and energy security.
A National Rollout: 100 Renewable Hubs by Next Year
ChargeZone plans to scale this model rapidly with a mission to establish 100 renewable-powered charging hubs along key national highways by next year. Many of these locations will operate fully off-grid, making the network resilient, self-sustaining, and capable of supporting India’s growing fleet of electric passenger vehicles and freight trucks, including those from BillionE Mobility.
