The electric vehicle world has a new distance champion — BYD’s updated Denza Z9 GT. With an astonishing CLTC-certified range of up to 1,036 km, this premium electric shooting brake sets a new global benchmark for mass-produced battery electric vehicles (BEVs). Built by BYD under its luxury arm Denza, the model showcases how fast EV technology is evolving.

At the heart of this achievement lies the latest Blade Battery V2 technology. The flagship variant uses a massive 122.496 kWh battery pack, delivering a 64% improvement over the previous model’s 630 km range. Interestingly, regulatory filings reveal that the standard Z9 sedan can reach up to 1,068 km — though the spotlight remains firmly on the GT.

Multiple Range and Power Options

The versatility of BYD’s updated Denza Z9 GT is evident in its configuration choices. Buyers can opt for:

  • Two battery capacities: 102.33 kWh and 122.496 kWh
  • Five range options: 820 km, 860 km, 880 km, 1,002 km, and 1,036 km

The newly introduced rear-wheel-drive version produces 370 kW and reaches a top speed of 240 km/h. Meanwhile, the tri-motor all-wheel-drive variant delivers a staggering 850 kW (1,140 hp), enabling a 0–100 km/h sprint in just 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 270 km/h.

For those wanting flexibility, a plug-in hybrid version is also available. It pairs a 2.0T engine with three electric motors and a 63.82 kWh battery, offering an impressive 400 km of pure electric range.

Built for Performance and Innovation

Underpinning BYD’s updated Denza Z9 GT is the advanced e³ platform, enabling cutting-edge features such as:

  • Crab Walk maneuvering
  • 360° Compass Turns
  • Rear-wheel steering up to 5°

Despite its high-tech nature, the vehicle retains a sleek and spacious form, measuring over 5.1 meters in length with a 3,125 mm wheelbase.

Luxury Meets Intelligent Technology

Inside, the cabin delivers a futuristic yet symmetrical layout. A 17.3-inch central display sits alongside dual 13.2-inch 2.5K screens, powered by a 4nm DiLink smart cockpit chip supporting ten-screen interaction and voice commands.

Premium touches include:

  • Nappa leather seats
  • Dual refrigerators
  • A 26-speaker sound system
  • Advanced autonomous capabilities via the God’s Eye 5.0 system

These features position BYD’s updated Denza Z9 GT squarely against luxury rivals like the Porsche Panamera and Porsche Taycan.

The Future of Long-Range Mobility

With record-breaking range, powerful tri-motor performance, and flagship luxury features, this model doesn’t just compete — it redefines expectations for long-distance electric mobility. BYD’s updated Denza Z9 GT signals a future where range anxiety becomes a thing of the past.
