In a landmark move for inclusive mobility, the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) celebrated its 53rd Foundation Day by unveiling two innovative mobility solutions for differently-abled persons and senior citizens. The event, held in New Delhi on November 30, 2025, marked a significant step in advancing India’s assistive technology ecosystem. Alimco Launches 3-Wheeler EV Scooter designed specifically for Divyangjan and senior citizens. Built for everyday Indian conditions, the scooter boasts a highly stable and ergonomic design, making it easy to navigate crowded streets and urban environments. Its low-maintenance, eco-friendly build ensures a sustainable and hassle-free mobility option for users who often face challenges with public transport or uneven roads.

In addition to the EV scooter, ALIMCO introduced a Clip-on Motorised Wheelchair attachment, which can convert a standard manual wheelchair into a powered one. Equipped with a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, the attachment offers a range of up to 25 km on a single charge and includes features such as enhanced braking and a reverse gear. This solution reduces fatigue for both users and caregivers while providing greater independence without the need to purchase a completely new powered wheelchair.

Both devices were unveiled by Union Minister for Social Justice & Empowerment Virendra Kumar and Minister of State B. L. Verma, alongside ALIMCO’s new purple logo, which symbolises “dignity, inclusion, and engineering brilliance,” according to CMD Shri Praveen Kumar. The ministers described the products as “powerful enablers of independence, dignity, and mobility,” reflecting India’s growing leadership in inclusive technology.

The 3-wheeler EV scooter is expected to be available via the Assistance to Persons with Disabilities (ADIP) scheme and the Rashtriya Vayoshree Yojna (RVY) scheme for senior citizens. Interested individuals can register at their nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) or contact ALIMCO directly for eligibility details. With these launches, ALIMCO reinforces its commitment to creating accessible, sustainable, and dignified mobility solutions, ensuring no citizen is left behind in India’s journey toward inclusive development.
