In a major boost to Spain’s clean mobility push, Acciona has secured a landmark contract from the regional government of Madrid to develop and operate the largest public electric vehicle charging hub within the city’s M-30 ring road. This milestone project highlights how Acciona’s deal for a 4MW EV charging hub is set to transform urban mobility infrastructure.
Strategic Location & Urban Transformation
The upcoming facility will be built at 276 Paseo de la Castellana, opposite the iconic Four Towers Business Area, and within the ambitious Madrid Nuevo Norte development zone.
Spanning 1,281 square metres, the site will convert a disused petrol station into a next-generation EV charging hub. This transition symbolises Madrid’s broader commitment to decarbonisation and sustainable urban renewal — reinforcing why Acciona’s deal for a 4MW EV charging hub is such a significant step forward.
Charging Power & Infrastructure
Scheduled to become operational by 2027, the hub will feature:
- Total Installed Capacity: 4 MW
- 20 ultra-fast charging points (up to 400 kW each)
- 19 for passenger EVs
- 1 dedicated to heavy-duty transport
- Battery-swapping station for electric scooters and motorcycles from Silence

Sustainability at Its Core
The facility will operate entirely on 100% certified renewable electricity, supported by:

- Photocatalytic façade designed to reduce local air pollution
The use of timber, locally sourced stone, and photocatalytic ceramic ensures low environmental impact while enhancing urban aesthetics.
Beyond Charging: A Mobility Experience
Designed as a public-access mobility space, the hub will include:
- User amenities
- Service area
- Space for EV-related events

This development builds on Acciona’s growing footprint following its acquisition of Shell Recharge network operator Cable Energía in 2025. The move added:
