In a groundbreaking move for India’s electric mobility sector, TATA.ev, in collaboration with Voltran, has launched India’s first fully manned public EV charging network. This milestone marks a significant step toward building a robust, accessible, and customer-friendly EV ecosystem nationwide.

14 New MegaCharger Stations Across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana

Under this partnership, 14 new MegaCharger stations have been set up across key routes in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, offering 24/7 support and premium facilities that redefine the EV charging experience. These stations bring TATA.ev’s total MegaCharger network to over 70 sites across India, forming a critical part of its mission to expand charging accessibility and convenience.

Strategic Expansion Under Open Collaboration 2.0

The initiative is part of TATA.EV’s “Open Collaboration 2.0” framework, which focuses on partnerships with leading charge point operators like Voltran and Tata Power. The company has set an ambitious goal to install more than 400,000 charging points, including 500 MegaChargers, by 2027 — significantly strengthening India’s EV infrastructure.

Designed for Intercity and Highway Travel

The newly launched stations are strategically located along five major highway corridors, including:

  • Hyderabad–Bengaluru
  • Hyderabad–Vijayawada
  • Hyderabad–Tirupati
  • Vijayawada–Chennai
  • Srikakulam–Vijayawada

With highway hubs spaced 100–170 km apart, these locations are ideal for seamless intercity EV travel, addressing one of the biggest concerns among EV users — long-distance charging accessibility.

Fast, Convenient, and User-Friendly

Each MegaCharger station is equipped with multiple high-speed connectors, supporting charging capacities from 120 kW up to 360 kW. Select locations can accommodate up to 12 vehicles simultaneously, allowing 80% charging in just 30–40 minutes — comparable to a quick coffee break during a road trip.

Amenities That Redefine the Charging Experience

To ensure a comfortable and convenient stop for drivers, the stations come with:

  • Air-conditioned lounges
  • Clean washrooms
  • Food and beverage options
  • Multiple payment methods — including cash, card, and UPI, with no app download required

Moreover, each station is staffed 24/7 by trained marshals who assist customers with the charging process, troubleshooting, and payments — providing a fuel station-like experience tailored for EV owners.

A Step Toward a Sustainable Future

This initiative by TATA.ev and Voltran symbolizes a major leap in India’s transition toward sustainable transportation. By blending technology, infrastructure, and customer convenience, the partnership not only encourages EV adoption but also lays the foundation for a nationwide, interconnected charging network.

As India accelerates its shift toward clean mobility, such collaborations will play a pivotal role in overcoming range anxiety and creating an EV-friendly ecosystem across urban and highway routes alike.
