India’s electric mobility ecosystem is set for a major boost as ThunderPlus and Indofast Energy partners to develop integrated EV energy hubs across the country. Announced on February 18, 2026, this strategic collaboration aims to create “one-stop” energy destinations by combining EV charging and battery-swapping services at a single location.
A One-Stop Energy Solution for EV Users
As ThunderPlus and Indofast Energy partners, the focus is on building a seamless and flexible energy infrastructure that caters to diverse electric vehicle segments. The integrated hubs will bring together ThunderPlus’s DC fast-charging stations and Indofast Energy’s two-minute battery-swapping technology under one roof.

This co-located model eliminates the need for separate charging or swapping visits, offering greater convenience to EV owners. By providing both options, users can choose what suits their needs—fast charging for longer journeys or instant battery swaps for quick turnaround.
Rollout in Major Cities, Nationwide Expansion Ahead
The initial rollout will begin in key metropolitan cities, including Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Delhi NCR. From there, the network will gradually expand to more than 250 locations nationwide.
Under the collaboration, Indofast Energy will deploy its battery-swapping stations within ThunderPlus’s existing charging network. This approach leverages available space and power infrastructure, optimizing land use while reducing installation timelines and costs. The strategy reflects a smart, scalable model designed for rapid nationwide expansion.
Focus on Two- and Three-Wheelers and Fleet Operators
The integrated hubs are primarily designed to serve electric two-wheelers (2W), three-wheelers (3W), passenger cars, and commercial fleets. Gig workers and fleet operators stand to benefit significantly, as the model minimizes vehicle downtime and enhances operational efficiency.
With two-minute battery swapping combined with fast-charging facilities, the initiative ensures that vehicles spend less time stationary and more time on the road. As ThunderPlus and Indofast Energy partner, the collaboration moves beyond the traditional “charging vs. swapping” debate to deliver flexibility and choice for EV users.
Building an Integrated Energy Ecosystem
According to Rajeev YSR, Executive Director and CEO of ThunderPlus, the partnership represents a major step toward creating an integrated energy ecosystem rather than isolated infrastructure solutions. Anant Badjatya, CEO of Indofast Energy, emphasized that the collaboration enhances the user experience by offering a seamless, adaptable energy solution.
Notably, Indofast Energy is a joint venture between IndianOil and SUN Mobility, strengthening the partnership’s industry backing and technological capability.
Overall, as ThunderPlus and Indofast Energy partner, this initiative aligns with the broader industry trend of integrating charging and swapping under unified platforms. By combining speed, flexibility, and scalability, the collaboration is poised to accelerate India’s transition toward a more efficient and accessible electric mobility future.
